However, when I plug in the external My Passport drive, the only thing that shows up is WD Smartware. I am in the process of moving to a newer Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop, and want to copy files stored on my 'My Passport (H:) drive to the new computer. Smartware software is installed on my laptop and I tried to install lock-unlock function to new HDD but it doesnt recognize new HDD as External HDD. I didnt realize that when I was buying because long time ago I bought 500 GB WD HDD and it already included software (and I can use lock-unlock function without problem). However, no software was installed on the HDD. I just bought a 1 TB WD External Drive (WD Elements SE 1 TB) to use for backing up business-related data and I need to use Lock-Unlock function (coming with WD Smartware I think)
